The Robins second string traveled to Girton on Saturday to take on newly promoted Kershaw Premier side Cambridge University Press.
Although the squad including first team keeper Harry Reynolds,Dom Hunt and Tom Thulborn from first team that played on Thursday it also included 16 year olds Louis Diver and Finn Cater.
With a number of players missing from Monday nights game it was a chance to have a look at Charile Goodchild in the centre of midfield . New signing Aiden Course started along with Matt Ashman who had returned from holiday
Luke Mansfield thought he had put his side ahead in the first half but the referee deemed that Luke had kicked the ball out of the keepers hands. It was to long before The Robins took the lead when a one two with Charlie McManus and Matt Ashman found Charlie one on one with the keeper and coolly lifted the ball over the keepers head and into the net
The second half saw Cambridge University Press up the tempo but the Robins organised themselves well enough to stuff out any danger. Young Louis Diver was having an outstanding game at the heart of the deference The away side aways looked dangerous on the counter with Tom Thuborn and Luke Mansfield making intelligent runs up front.
Cambridge University Press equalised in the 80th with a superb free kick
A special mention should go out to the Doritos crisp packet who made a great challenge on Jamie Gayfer to send him sprawling to the floor. Andrew Lee may go into the market for the Doritos packet as he looks like he has a crisp left foot
Overall a very pleasing performance with and without the ball
