Ely's unbeaten run came to a disappointing end on Saturday at The Sycamores Recreation Ground.
Spencer Saberton made his first start for the club after the cricket season had finished along with Charlie Tunnell,Matt Ashman,Matty Simpson all starting
The Robins made a decent start with Luke Mansfield finishing off coolly after 15 minutes, but this was undone when poor defending at a free kick let in the home side to equaliser with a header
The rest of the 1st half through up chances for both sides but remained level at half time
The second half started disappointingly and continued in that vain as the side showed an lack of experience and desire to get something out of the game . Five minutes in and from a Milton goal kick a long ball over the top of the back four was not dealt with and then a cross into the box was finished well.
The Robins heads seem to drop ,but although without creating to many chances were still in the game. Unfortunately a long range shot shortly afterwards was not dealt with and the home side went 3-1 up. A fourth followed towards the end and although the away side rallied towards the end never really looked like getting back in the game
A really disappointing performance especially 2nd half and the side all be it fairly young in age need to add the physical part of the game to their armory along with the ability that they have
Manager Andrew Lee will be looking for a reaction when they entertain Over Sports next Saturday
