Pieminister are bringing their award winning pies to supporters and adding a delicious new chapter to our Ely City matchday experience.
After a week of build up, with our social media booming and the much-anticipated pie and pint deal lighting up timelines, anticipation hit its peak long before kick-off.
As the ovens fired up in the Robin Feeder, the unmistakable aroma of crisp, golden pastry filled the air - rich steak pies bubbling away alongside the fragrant spice of chicken tikka. It wasn’t long before the smell alone began to pull supporters towards the counter.
By early afternoon, a line had formed out the front, home and away fans alike eagerly waiting to get their hands - and mouths - around the hot, hearty pies that awaited them. Scarves on, our programmes (Officially unofficially the best in the league) tucked under arms, supporters tucked in pre-kick-off, soaking up the atmosphere with a ‘handy pie’ in one hand and a pint in the other. The verdict’s unanimous: proper football food, done properly. ?
The demand didn’t slow once the whistle blew. At half time, the queue returned in force, with kitchen staff working flat out. By shortly after the restart, the result was clear - a complete sell-out, and a hugely successful first outing for the partnership.
This launch stands as a statement of intent from both Ely City Football Club and Pieminister. It’s not just about food; it’s about enhancing our supporter experience and raising the standard of matchday offerings.
