Brady Stone and his troops traveled to Kershaw Premier side Linton Granta on Tuesday evening for a pre season friendly at Linton Village College .With a lot of pre season games being postponed due to the heavy rain in the area over the last 24 hours this game was not in doubt due to the 3G surface
The Robins included in their squad trialists Ryan Williams and Jonathan Brown . Ryan's previous clubs include Orssett Town and Frickley Athletic while Jonathan was at Soham United last season. 17 year old Tom Thulborn was also included.
The away side got off to a cracking start by taking an early lead from Nick Heaps and then this was followed by goals by Ryan Williams and Jonathan Brown before Lewis Hook made it 4-0 after half an hour. The home side did manage to get one back before the break with a well taken strike
The second half saw a number of changes for both sides and the home side started the better and pulled an early goal back before Nick Heaps got his second to make it 5-2 . Again Linton replied before Tom Thulborn's good work rewarded him with his sides sixth. Linton kept having a go and got one back at the end
Entertaining game for the soggy watching fans, but more importantly another good 90 minutes of football for the players
The club would like to wish Linton Granta FC all the best for the forthcoming season
