With a lot of the sides at the bottom of the table playing each other the Robins took on a Melford side who were aiming for a 5th win in a row after gaining wins against sides at the top of the league.
The Robins went into the game on the back of last Fridays home win against Haverhill Rovers knowing that they had to get something out of the game.
The away side started brightly, but found themselves 1-0 after 4 mins when a corner missed Jamie Alsop's head and the Melford striker got in front of Ash Walter to head home. This seemed to knock the Robins back and never got a foot hold in the game with Melford having a couple of good chances as the half went on to increase their lead.
Although not creating to much in the way of chances the big talking point of the 1st half was when Sam Reed was attempting to latch on to a ball over the top only to be brought down by the last defender who was making no attempt to win the ball. The referee deemed this a yellow card when it could have easily been a red
With the Robins receiving a stern talking to by manager Brady Stone at half time they came out for the 2nd half on the front foot and started to get out the Melford defence in the wide areas. During this good spell of pressure Stone made a triple change bringing on Daniel Jeffrey,Alex Theobald and Matty Simpson and it was Matty Simpson who drove home the equaliser with 20 minutes to go. Melford although hanging on also looked dangerous on the counter attack. and Harry Reynolds came to the rescue on a couple of occasions.
With the game going into the last couple of minutes Kelvin Enaro drove at the Melford defence and was clearly brought down in the box when about to shoot. The referee deemed that he had dived and promptly booked him for diving .
The game finished a draw and with results going in the Robins favour it seemed a good one to take, although on another day it could have been much more
