The Robins left deepest Norfolk with nothing to show after a typical game of two halves (well almost) by conceding a 90th minute winner.
Adam Capel came in for his debut at right back for Dom Hunt, while Josh Sewell replaced Sam Goodge and Jonathan Brown in for the unavailable Sam Reed up front.
The home side started the better and got down the left hand side behind the back four with ease in the 6th minute when a cross in the box was turned into his own net by Tom Williams.
The Robins could not seem to retain possession while looking vulnerable at times at the other end. Nick Heap and Alex Theobald had chances to level when both were one on one with the keeper, but on both occasions their shots were hit straight at the him.
While Fakenham had the better of the 1st half, the 2nd in the main belonged to the away side with Jonathan Brown hitting a long range shot that the keeper could not hold and almost dropped into his net. The Robins did eventually get their equaliser in the 72 minute when Craig Neal broke down the left and crossed for captain Ash Walter to side foot home.
Matty Simpson then had a good run , but his shot was straight at the keeper.
With the game looking like both sides would pick up a point the game change when Craig Neal was put through on goal only to be flagged offside when he looked like he had timed his run perfectly. The resulting free kick ended up with the Robins not defending their back line correctly and were punished after Harry Reynolds had made one save ,but could not stop the rebound being put away by the advancing forward.
Overall a disappointing first half performance and more importantly a disappointing result.
Next up is Stowmarket Town at The Ellgia Stadium on Saturday
